"3 April [1814]
The Ice is getting very dangerous. I went over to Points Henry and Frederick Yesterday and found it very sloppy in returning. The new ships are nearly completed. News of the affair at Odell Town and LaColle Mill. The Enemy under Macomb and Wilkinson attacked our troops on the 30th last, but received a severe repulse. The 13th [Regiment of Foot] under Sir William. Williams and some Marines, and Militia behaved very well. The force was commanded by General Vincent."
