This past weekend, the GLI attended the siege of Fort Erie commemorating one of the bloodiest battles of the War of 1812. The British forces numbered around 250, and an impressive sight it was.

There were 4 battles fought throughout the weekend. The first of which saw a large force of Americans overpowering the small garrison at the fort.

Later, an unsuccessful attempt was made to retake the fort.

Saturday evening's battle ended after the attacking British forces stormed the walls, but were virtually wiped out after the powder magazine exploded. The wounded were attended to, but many succumbed to their wounds.

The Glens would like to thank the Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada for the fabulous meal and warm hospitality on Friday and Saturday evening. You really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

Also, I'd like to thank everyone who helped out with the surgery. You all did a great job, and you deserve to be congratulated!

Check out the pictures.

See you all soon.
