Dave,

As promised; here is the place to go to get sword and kilt goodies, etc. This is where the SDG Highlanders shop, at least this is where they shopped 10 years ago. I hope it's still in business. I haven't checked to see if they have a website these days.

Burnett's and Struth
61 Patterson Road
Barrie, Ontario
L4N 3V9
705-728-3232

Let me know if you have any luck. I'd like to finish off my sword and get a few yards of cloth for a kilt myself.

Cheers,
Pud

Dave & Jesse

I just noticed this message & thought that it seemed outdated. I grew up on Patterson Rd. & couldn't remember having seen this business in this location in some time.
I checked it out in the phone book & looked it up on line. They have a web site http://www.burnetts-struth.com & they are still located in Barrie.

Burnett's & Struth
570 Bryne Dr.
Barrie, Ont.
(705) 728-3232

Bryne Dr. is located near the south end Walmart (which can be seen from Hwy 400).
If I can be of any help just let me know, as I do go to that neck of the woods from time to time.

Kevin,

Thanks for looking into it for me. Please do, if you can find the new location go on in and enquire as to the MacDonnell pattern of kilt cloth that the SDG HIGHLANDERS in Cornwall use and get a price per yard/metre for me. They may have a minimum purchase amount too. Get whatever info you can. Oh, and ask what their bolt size is too please. 60 inches is normal but they may have 36 through 48 inch too.

And, ask about sword knots. Sabre and Cavalry (broad) sword. One for sgtmajor and one for lieutenant and one for captain.

Thanks man,
Cheers,
Pud

p.s. Also, ask if they can get their hands on a bolt of Forest/Glengarry green melton cloth for the manufacture of tunics (they used this stuff by the tonnes about 15 years ago when modern Canadian army great coats were made of the stuff). We need the 8 to 10 onze melton wool cloth. Price too please.
