There has been some discussion in the past whether or not the GLI ever acted as mounted troops. I have just found the following:
Sir G. Drummond to Sir Geo. Prevost

Headquarters Camp before Fort Erie 4th Aug. 1814

I have this morning detached an officer of the Quartermaster General's Department with a party of dragoons and a few mounted men of the Glengarry Light Infantry by the road leading upon Fort Erie by Bird's and Tyce Horn's, along the lake shore to make an accurate reconnaissance of the enemy position

Maybe at my new place, there might be room. Hey,wouldn't it be cool if we all rode horses at the siege of Ft. Erie this year?
