Uncle Mike, can I be transferred out?

Source: Red Coat and Brown Bess. Museum Restoration Service, Bloomfield, Ontario. 1970. Anthony Darling. p. 8.

"Joining a particular regiment gave no assurance that the recruit would remain within its ranks; he could be drafted – transferred - to another, if the situation warranted it."

After having spent several hours in the Archives last month looking at GLI enlistment records, it's obvious that in addition to men being transfered out they were also transfered in. Specifically from the De Watteville, the 41st, the 6th, the DeMeuron etc.

I knew of the other three, but was not aware of the DeMeuron Regt. Very curious. Of course, I guess, if one swiss regt could do it then why not the other.

Cheers,
Pud
